Parkwell's was born in a
declining local economy out of
necessity. In 1981, Betsy Parker
and Brooke Powell were two, of many, laid off from a
national engineering firm because of corporate downsizing.
The local employment opportunities were poor at best. Betsy
|
had previously taken many floral design classes and workshops, and
even taught some of those classes at the local schools and hosted
workshops in the community. She was president of the Garden Club
for many years, and had been decorating and making flower
arrangements for friends and family for years.

When Parker and Powell found themselves
out of work, they combined forces and
became Parkwell's (named from PARKer
and poWELL), turning Betsy's personal
interest into a business. Since opening
their first store in Auburndale, Florida,

they have grown into a successful and
competitive business. They have added a warehouse, located in
Auburndale, and a workshop and a shipping center located in Lakeland, Florida.
The corporate office is located in Highland City, Florida. You can reach them by writing to:
