Oregon Grape is native to much of the Pacific Coast and is found sparsely east of the Cascades.
Its low growing year-round foliage of pinnated, waxy green leaves resembles holly, and is popular as an ornamental plant.
The plant bears bright yellow clusters of dainty little flowers in early summer.
In late fall, its dark blue berries ripen and can be used in cooking.
